1. Selling Basics
Selling on LocalMarketplace.co requires you to comply with several key guidelines to ensure a positive experience for both sellers and buyers.
a. What Can Be Sold on LocalMarketplace.co
Sellers may list handmade products, vintage items, and unique services. All items must be designed, crafted, or handpicked by the seller. Each listing must provide:
•An accurate description of how the item was made and by whom.
•Honest representation of any production partners (if applicable).
•Your own photos or videos of the product; stock images are not allowed.
b. What Can’t Be Sold
Prohibited items include but are not limited to:
•Adult content, including any nudity or sexually explicit materials.
•Items violating intellectual property laws.
•Dangerous, hazardous, or illegal items.
•Gift cards, referral codes, or crowdfunding listings.
Dropshipping and reselling items not made or sourced by the seller are not allowed, except in specific cases outlined by the platform.
LocalMarketplace.co reserves the right to remove listings that violate our policies and may suspend or terminate accounts for repeated violations.
2. Managing Your Shop
Your shop represents you and your business on the platform, and it must comply with all platform rules. By selling on LocalMarketplace.co, you agree to:
•Provide honest and accurate information about your products and your business.
•Adhere to your Shop Policies (including shipping, returns, and customer communication).
•Respect the intellectual property of others and ensure your listings do not infringe upon the rights of others.
•Refrain from coordinating pricing with other sellers or engaging in actions that manipulate search results or buyer behavior.
3. Seller Standards
Sellers are responsible for meeting high standards of service, including:
•Honoring your dispatch and processing times.
•Responding to buyer inquiries promptly.
•Resolving any disputes or issues directly with the buyer. If a resolution cannot be reached, LocalMarketplace.co’s case system may be used.
•Notifying the buyer if you are unable to complete an order and issuing a full refund where necessary.
4. Shipping
•Shipping Responsibility: Sellers must provide clear shipping policies, including costs and expected delivery times, and are responsible for shipping items promptly.
•Tracking Information: Where possible, sellers should provide buyers with tracking information for their orders.
•Delays: If there is any delay in shipping, sellers must notify buyers as soon as possible and work to resolve the issue.
5. Content Creation and Moderation
Sellers may create and upload content such as text, photos, and videos to represent their products. This content must not:
•Contain hateful or derogatory language.
•Violate intellectual property rights.
•Include private or confidential information.
•Encourage off-platform transactions.
LocalMarketplace.co reserves the right to remove any content that violates these standards.
6. Communication Standards
Sellers are expected to communicate with buyers professionally and promptly. The platform’s messaging system must not be used for:
•Unsolicited advertising or promotions.
•Harassment or abuse of other users.
•Encouraging off-platform transactions.
If a transaction must be canceled, sellers should notify the buyer via messages and issue a refund where applicable.
7. Feedback and Reviews
Buyers can leave reviews for sellers, including a rating and optional photos or videos. Reviews must adhere to content standards and cannot include offensive language or images.
Sellers may respond to reviews but cannot manipulate the review system (e.g., by soliciting false reviews).
8. Intellectual Property
Sellers are responsible for ensuring that their listings do not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others. If a seller believes their rights have been violated, they can report the violation to LocalMarketplace.co.
9. Legal Compliance
Sellers must comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws regarding the sale of goods and services. This includes regulations related to product safety, consumer protection, and taxation.
10. Governing Law
By using LocalMarketplace.co, sellers agree to resolve any disputes in accordance with the laws of Ontario, Canada. Any legal action must be brought in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
